Clementine is run by me, Emily! I'm a Vermonter and admirer of many things, especially: fetching handmade goods, clean design, a nice font, supple fabric and sweet vintage finds. I have been a lawyer, a lobbyist and an advocate for women and families. I began an online journal on the side to chronicle things sewn, typed & images I found unavoidably fetching. As things do, that love snowballed and the idea for Clementine began. In November of 2010 I quit my day job and opened Clementine. I now work hard to support independent and handmade artists while delighting in the fact that I gets to buy beautiful things for a living. I used to bring my baby son to work, now he makes quick visits and consults on our baby-finds. 

Our brick & mortar shop is nestled in the village of Middlebury, Vermont. This is the front desk. The room in back overlooks the Otter Creek falls, which you can hear on a quiet day.  We enjoy in-person visits the most, but some of my favorite people live outside of the state. This online shop is for them.
